About Department
The Department of Pharmacology & Therapeutics at Army Medical College Rangpur provides comprehensive training to medical cadets in their 2nd phase of the MBBS program. The primary goal of the department is to equip students with a thorough understanding of the history, origin, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and interactions of various drugs. Cadets are also given hands-on experience in therapeutic applications during their hospital ward placements. The year-long Pharmacology course is divided into two terms, with a total of 200 teaching hours. This includes 100 hours of theoretical lectures, 30 hours of tutorials, 50 hours of practical demonstrations, and 20 hours dedicated to clinical case reports, assignments, and presentations. In addition, cadets participate in seminars and workshops related to pharmacology to enhance their practical knowledge of drug manufacturing and medicine.
