About Department

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is responsible for educating 4th and 5th-year MBBS students. The course is structured to provide a comprehensive understanding of Obstetrics, Neonatology, Gynecology, and Family Planning, blending theoretical knowledge with practical application. The objective is to equip future medical graduates with the skills to manage common obstetric and gynecological conditions, handle emergencies, and identify critical cases for timely referral to specialized care. The curriculum allocates 200 hours for lectures, demonstrations, and integrated teaching, along with 16 weeks of clinical clerkship for hands-on experience in the ward. After the scheduled classes, revision sessions are conducted, and models are utilized to enhance procedural skills in obstetrics and gynecology.
