Foundation Stone Laying for Army Medical College and Hospital Rangpur
On Thursday, October 3rd, the Army Medical College and Hospital Rangpur foundation stone was laid on a 10-acre site. This location is east of Rangpur Cantonment and Sena Proyash Park. Bangladesh Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman, OSP, SGP, PSC, presided over the ceremony. Major General Shakil Ahmed, Commander of the 66 Infantry Division and Area Commander of Rangpur, also attended. He is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Army Medical College Rangpur. Brigadier General Abdul Majid, CEO of the college, along with senior officers, faculty, and students, were present.
After the foundation laying, the Army Chief joined a special prayer. The prayer sought the progress of the nation and the success of the college and hospital. In his speech, the Army Chief emphasized the institution’s future importance. He highlighted the role it will play in improving healthcare in the region and the nation. The Army Chief noted that Rangpur lags in healthcare services. He also expressed hope that the hospital will provide specialized care for kidney, liver, and cancer diseases. The Army Chief then inspected the construction of the residential infrastructure for the college.
